Background and Experience
Why she started
For most of her twenties Amelia wore the wrong size: two band sizes and three cups out. What finally broke it was being measured in three shops on the same street and leaving with three different sizes, three confident fitters and no explanation. One measured over a jumper, one added four inches to her ribcage because an old chart said so, and one did not measure at all.
The first version
The site began as a spreadsheet Amelia used to explain sister sizes to friends. Michael Chen turned it into a web tool that did not require anyone to understand the formula.
What she believes
The problem was never that women cannot measure. It is that nobody shows their working. Every result on the site shows the arithmetic behind it, plus the sister sizes to try when the first number is close but not quite right.
How the Site Developed
| Year | Milestone |
|---|---|
| 2018 | A spreadsheet, then a calculator |
| 2019 | UK, EU, French and Australian conversion tables added |
| 2020 | Guides rewritten for readers solving fit problems at home while fitting rooms were closed |
| 2022 | The +4 method dropped from the calculator; cup grading rebuilt around measured difference |
| 2024 | Dedicated pregnancy, nursing and postpartum sizing guides |
| 2026 | Brand-specific fit notes |

How We Work
Every size result on the site follows one published calculation methodology: the band is the snug underbust rounded to the nearest even number, with no inches added, and each cup letter is one inch of full bust over the band. Every guide follows our editorial policy. We do not accept payment for recommendations, and we correct errors when readers report them.
